This should work with any 48 port switch (I've tested with Consentry, Cisco). I will be adding interface errors and interface up / down over the next month.

Have you checked out the "HP Procurve" template at the Zabbix wiki?
I think it does most of the same things as your template, plus the extra stuff you want to add.
