Many Zabbix on one Mysql base...

    Hi everybody!

Do you think it's possible to have many Zabbix-server running and using the same mysql server and the same base?

Do you think it's possible to cumulate the results ans show the values on only one interface?

My way is to check somes phones who are on another geographical site and on a subnet that I cannot reach directly by my main Zabbix-server.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bye,

    Hi

    how about distributed monitoring ?
Supported by zabbix in versions 1.4.x and 1.6.4.

From ZABBIX 1.6.x on you can use a ZABBIX Proxy which
was implemented just for your scenario (remote "maintenance-free"
ZABBIX server functionality with a limited amount of checks).

This will fulfill your requirements- one MySQL server, one DB, one GUI - without
patching or modification of the sources.

You need some sort of access, anyway !

    HTH,

    Norbert.

To add a little more to what Norbert said, using multiple Zabbix servers with one database is not supported. The problem centers around the housekeeper which is rather easy to work around and the way the server queues items to be requested. Essentially each instance of the Zabbix server would be doing exactly the same thing. Each server would poll the same agent to get the same data and then put the same data int the database. So if you have two server processes you'd have two data points for every time interval.

I hope this helps understand this better.
