    Template for Cisco 4507 ?

    Hello,

I'm looking after a template for Cisco 4507.

Maybe by using a slightly modified version of Cisco switch 48xeth+2xGb ?

    Any advice will be appreciated

    Thanks for your help.

Well, I'm decided to try make myself a 45O7r template but several remarks :

    * each 4507r is different, because each has different SUP cards and differents switch cards.

    * it's really difficult to understand the dynamic oid system, for me. For example, each time a new vlan is added, a new interface is added with a bungh of new oids to poll.

Someone has advices on doing this template ?

PS : I tried http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/scripts/gentemplate.pl but it fails with an error (division by zero if I remember well...)

There's no point trying to template modular switches, because as you've noticed, the interface indices will vary from switch to switch. The 'snmp-server ifindex persist' command might help when adding/removing stuff from an individual switch.

Your best bet will be to use a template generator [search the forum] to map a switch and import the xml file it generates.

I agree, but I don't have the rights to do anything on cisco equipments...

Like http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/scripts/gentemplate.pl ? It fails writing the outputed xml file. I'll have a look on other possibilities by searching the forum.

        Thanks.
