Having trouble getting a catalyst 2960-48 graphed

Hi,

As the title already stated, I'm having trouble creating graphs for a 48 port 2960 switch.

I've edited the default 2960 template, which has only 24 ports. I've added the items for IN/OUT and the respective snmp oid's. To no avail. The import function accepts the new template but I can't seem to find it anywhere in the GUI.

When I use the default 24 port template graphs are created, however all the values stay stuck at 0 bytes.

Any clues on how to proceed?

The edited template can be found at the following link: http://blog.penumbra.be/files/zabbix...960-48.xml.txt
And an snmpwalk can be found at this one: http://blog.penumbra.be/files/zabbix...lk_2960-48.txt

Code:
# sh ver
cisco WS-C2960-48TT-L (PowerPC405) processor (revision F0)
with 61440K/4088K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FOC1333Y0SL
Last reset from power-on
3 Virtual Ethernet interfaces
48 FastEthernet interfaces
2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

On your rebuilt template, the 'key' is wrong. You should be able to snmpwalk the OID and the key and get the same result. For example I would use:

snmp_oid: .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.10001
and
Key: ifInOctets.10001

I had the following in my template:
Code:

port 01 - bandwidth in

<snmp_oid>interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.10001</snmp_oid>

When I run snmpget on this oid I do get the correct value on each port:
Code:
# snmpget -On -c public -v 1 $HOST interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.10001
.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.10001 = Counter32: 1085501920
I still have no clue why I can't find the uploaded template.

This is wrong

key="port_01_bandwidth_in"

Try snmpwalking: interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.10001
then: ifInOctets.10001
then: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.10001

They should all give you the same value.

Now snmpwalk this: port_01_bandwidth_in
Result will be: port_01_bandwidth_in: Unknown Object Identifier

Where's the template? Try looking in Conf --> Hosts -> Group = All or Group = Templates.

Alright thanks. I'll give it a try.

I know, but the new template just doesn't show up. Not even in templates.php, with group = all.

I think you're using Zabbix 1.8
There is a problem/bug with import/export in 1.8

Might be possible to resolve it by installing the php-xml package.

Google this for more leads: import 1.8 site:zabbix.com

I already had php-xml installed because I knew about that issue.
But it still doesn't work. Strange thing is that there are no errors shown.

I guess we'll have to wait for 1.8.1 to deploy it. There are still lot's of bugs in 1.8.

Update:
I've tried the gentemplate.pl just to be sure that the syntax is OK.
After uploading the new template there are no errors and again the template doesn't show up.

And a final update:

This one seemed to do the trick. Altough the import doesn't work export.php needs to be edited. I'd rather think it would be a bug in import.php.
