Let me answer my own question

It seems that there were old PIDs running of dbforbix, I killed them and restarted, now I'm not getting any connection errors anymore

This morning when I came in, the last interrogation of DBs were yesterday late

But no error messages and DBforBix was running in memory, where can I troubleshoot this, any ideas?
Starting to think that I should move back to PostBix and Orabbix!!

Error start DBForbix service

Hi, I'm herdi from Indonesia,
I have been around with zabbix for several months. I found it amazing monitoring system. Previously i used zabbix to monitor my network devices like router, switch, pbx, ups and linux servers. It all based on snmp monitoring & some agent monitoring. Today i have a role at work as DBA, handling something i never touch before, ORACLE database on Solaris server.
I have tried to use zabbix to monitor the system environment (CPU, Memory, Disk performance, etc) and it all succeed without need root access. I just install agent on the Solaris server to monitor all the environment parameter that i need to monitor. My Zabbix server is CentOS with mysql database. But when it comes to Database Oracle monitoring on Solaris server, i got stuck. I have used dbforbix plugins to do that, but come up with errors like this on connect to the database.

@Herdi , make sure that you have the Oracle driver in your /opt/dbforbix/lib directory, see below
[root@zabbix lib]# pwd
/opt/dbforbix/lib

DBforBIX stopped working again, it just stops sending the queries, no indication in the log files, nothing, where can I look for errors?

try to read at logs
it is inside of /opt/dbforbix/logs

the dbforbix proccess is running?
try /etc/init.d/dbforbix restart
and post here the result
i had problem in PIDFILE, when i first install, it was wrong in my config.conf
should be dbforbix.pid but was orabbix.pid

There is no errors in the logfiles, look at my previous posts, the restart is ok without any errors

I have an alarm on Zabbix that tells me when the logfile does not increase, if you look at the timestamps, you'll see that the alarm came up at 17h20

I have a cronjob that restarts DbforBix every 6 hours to get it working after failures
* */6 * * * /etc/init.d/dbforbix restart > /tmp/dbforbix.log

Where can I look for problems, I've had the logfile in debug mode and there are no errors.... Please help!!!

Please help, I do not know how to fix this anymore, restarting dbforbix in crontab is not the way to go....

I'm having trouble getting dbforbix to work.
I have Zabbix 2.0.4 installed on Ubuntu 10.04, with a postgreSQL 8.4 database.
I installed dbforbix 0.6 on the same host, and configured it to monitor the zabbix database:

zabbix.Url=jdbc

ostgresql://localhost:5432/zabbix
zabbix.User=*****
zabbix.Password=*****
zabbix.DatabaseType=pgsql
zabbix.QueryListFile=./conf/pgsqlquery.props

I created a host with the name 'zabbix', and applied the postgreSQL template to it.

But when I start dbforbix, no data is received by Zabbix. Log file shows UNSUPPORTED error, with lots of strange characters. Locale of host and database is en_US.UTF8.

Any idea what's going on?

stupid me

I filled in the port of the zabbix agent instead of the zabbix server in the config.props file.

Works nice now for postgreSQL. Next thing on my list: get it to monitor our DB2 databases...
