Max text send to items table

        Hi

I'm trying to send about 2000 characters to latest data in the items table, which I have changed to a text datatype.

My problem is, that I still only receives 255 characters.

The history_text can display the hole string, but the text format I have made is not available in the history_text table.

My question is, can I change the max text value being sent to Zabbix?

        Cheers

I need to check, so please give me the benefit of the doubt but shouldn't be a DBforBIX limitation I think is possible is a protocol limitation, but as said I need to check.

            Follow up

            Hi Dalle

            Just to follow up.
I have checked the proxy log, and here is the complete string,
The complete string is also displayed in the "Latest data"

The problem is I cannot find the data in any tables in MySQL

            Cheers

              Solution for large text strings

              Hi

              I have found a work-arround.
I have changed the datatype to log. That way the string can be sent and the formatting of the string is intact.

              Cheers

                Hi,

I can't find a template for MS SQL?

Is this still work in progress?

                Regards,

DBforBix continues to run, but stops sending data to zabbix

I am having an issue where dbforbix will stop sending data to zabbix after several hours. I cannot find anything specific in the logs around the time when data stops appearing. It appears that data is being collected. Has anyone else experienced this issue? It almost seems like there is a memory leak.

                    Hi russianrick,
I have the same problem, mine collects for days though, before stopping without any problem in the logs. What I did was to create an item to see when the logfile is not growing and trigger on that
See the attached Item and Trigger

MS SQL template missing in version 0.6.1

After downloading the latest DBforBIX version 0.6.1, I wonder where to find the MS SQL XML template for importing into Zabbix. The template folder has one for MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and Sybase but none for MS SQL.

                          Many thanks

                            SQL Server Item / graph

Hey there, was hoping someone might be able to help since there isn't an mssql template anymore for dbforbix.
I have set up a mssql 2000 in my config and just have one query in my queries file.

                            QueryList=Processes

                            Processes.Query=select count(*) from master.dbo.sysprocesses where hostname != ''

The dbforbix log says it running properly for the sql server.
I create an item in zabbix that looks like this

                            Name: Processes
                            Type: Zabbix Trapper
                            Key: DBforBIX.mssql.Processes
                            Type: Numeric (Float)
                            Units: Blank/None
                            Custom Multiplier: Blank/None
                            Keep history: 90
                            Keep Trends: 365
                            Store Value: As is
                            Show Value: As is
                            Allowed Hosts: Blank/None
                            New Application: Blank/None
                            Populates host inventory field: -None-

According to zabbix, the item is fine with no errors and it is enabled.

I try to create a graph using this item. but the graph still says [no data]

I can execute the query on the host with the user credentials i've provided in the conf.props file.

                            Any thoughts?
                            Thanks ahead of time!

                              Man,

I really love DbforBix, but my boss need to monitor other thinks, like query´s, database sizes, etc etc and in the template attacched in DBforBIX , they monitor only 23 items.

Can dbforbix get this values from postgresql?

Have another template with more items to monitoring?

Sorry for my bad english... =/

                                Database Queries stopped

                                Hallo Dalle,

I think you have done a great Job so far dbforbix is incredible and i am trying to get everything out of it.

So far I installed DBforBIX (0.6) on my Zabbix Server (RedHat 6.3, Zabbix 2.2, Postgres 9.2.4) and added some Queries to the pgsqlquery.props.

Now I have encountered a Problem which i didn't find in the Logs.
After about 10 hours of working without any Problems it (Queries every 1 minute) it stopped without any Error. The only Strange thing is, that the log shows for the last entrys only Thread 1!

I will try to leave it again over night on our testsystem, but i think this is quite critical.

Is this a known Problem/Issue, is it fixed in 0.6.1?

                                Br Manuel
