Monitoring via SSH Command Line Query of Agent

Please excuse me if this is documented somewhere or I'm missing something
fundamental.

Regarding the _secure_ monitoring of remote hosts via ssh.

Is there not some way to simply use the SSH monitoring facility to
do a basic zabbix-agent -p and parse the output like it came from a direct
socket query?
