Integration of inventory systems

Hi all,

I'm thinkig about integrating an inventory system with zabbix (I have not yet decided how deep will be).

At this moment I am looking about a free software tool to do it and I have found this one: zCI (http://zci.sourceforge.net/). My first impression was very good but I want to know if anybaody has been using it and his opinion about the possible integration in zabbix. One of the problems I found is that it only works with PCs and I am also interested in routers and switches.

If anybody is interested in the same project or has develop a similar one I really would like to receive suggestions.

Have you looked at Asset Tracker: http://atwiki.chaka.net/

It's a module for the wonderful Request Tracker helpdesk system (www.bestpractical.com). We're using it to inventory PCs, switches, cellphones, software, etc. It works great.

There's also OCS Inventory.

The code is horrible but the information gathering agent is quite good.
