Installing Zabbix agents on Debian tutorial

    Hi All,

I couldn't find a good tutorial that walks you through the process of installing the precompiled agent on Debian, so I made one.

    You can find it here:

    http://itmanager.blogs.com/notes/201...on-debian.html

Big thanks to txalin for the /etc/init.d/zabbix-agent script that he created: http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthre...244#post103244

      hi

      nice tutorial - well done

have you seen that there are already init-scripts provided by Zabbix:

      Code:
      [makerpm@localhost init.d]$ pwd
      /home/makerpm/rpmbuild/BUILD/zabbix-2.0.2/misc/init.d
      [makerpm@localhost init.d]$ ls -l debian
      total 8
      -rwxr-xr-x. 1 makerpm makerpm 698 Jul 31 11:16 zabbix-agent
      -rwxr-xr-x. 1 makerpm makerpm 700 Jul 31 11:16 zabbix-server
      cheers
