"Zabbix database is down"

Hi
IS this email message (subject and body) hardcoded? We filter our zabbix email alerts with by subject i.e. Problem, OK, Information etc so would ideally like to change the information in this alert.

it is hardcoded. you could change it in sources and recompile... but that's a bit hackish.

btw, this message will be improved in 2.2 - see the current specification at http://www.zabbix.org/wiki/Docs/specs/ZBXNEXT-970

as for the change you suggested, might be worth creating a new feature request

As of 2.4.3 it seems this still hasn't been improved. The email still just has a body of "Zabbix database is down." with no additional info, no recovery message, nothing. I am trying to determine why the database went down, how long it was down, etc., and have no information for doing so.

yes, unfortunately this feature got taken out of the roadmap. you should be able to see more information in the logfile, though
