I have found a quick and easy way to migrate a failed Zabbix Server to a Backup Zabbix Server.
We use alot of zabbix trappers to receive data so changing each hosts sending is not an option.
Normally we had a Zabbix Server and several remote proxies, but in the case of a failure the hosts that were sending data to the zabbix_server would have to be reconfigured.
I changed our model only slightly. The main zabbix server directly monitors nothing, and the local site it controlled by a zabbix proxy. It actually appears to be be an efficient design since our load on the box has significantly reduced.
