a very unexperienced and starter it person needs a bit of help from those who are more knowledgable..
So I "installed" the appliance version of Zabbix, have it running (static IP is OK, dns ok)
Even after looking at the documentation and various threads (like the https://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22211 and the official wikipage) I am still stuck a bit.
We only have Windows servers, 3 DC (w2k3),3 Exch 2k3 , 3 wsus, and 4 xenapps. So I'd think this means I should create 4 host groups.
How should I start the configuring of
-what to check ,when to check on them (these are the items, right? )
-Thresholds? (like cpu 90% for 5 minutes..or disk 90% for 5 minutes)
-what to do in case of... (these are the triggers, right? )
Sorry, ENglish is not my first language, so might have some term understanding issues..
I'd like to do : cpu/memory/disk monitoring, ping, and 1-2 specific windows service checks..
Could someone in a couple of points explain the steps to take?or maybe some other document which describes (better then the official,sorry
) how I should proceed?
