    Hi Richard,

I think what you did is fantastic sincerely!

I have been working for a monitoring software company in the past that is trying to provide solutions both for technical and Business process monitoring.

Naturally, I tried to do the same with Zabbix in my current position, but found a lot of limitations for:

    - Business Processes modelization (since all metrics, i.e items, are linked to "hosts"). the only work around I found so far is to use "virtual hosts", which is quite useful to maintain.

    - Maps navigation: It is pretty limited what you can bring on a map, plus there is no way to limit the triggers propagation according to the triggers severity (supposed to be included in version 2.2)

    - SLA calculation is done based on unique trigger, making it painful to use for a business service gathering several KPIs!

    - Finally, what i found missing in Zabbix is the way to bring data from SQL queries. In fact, each item in Zabbix is for one value only, and clearly ODBC connections is not working properly yet

I wish I could do as you (and create my own zabbix page) but I'd rather see Zabbix team trying to emphasis the Business Monitoring capacities.

Having said that, i must say that I am Zabbix enthusiastic though, mainly for its robustness and flexible architecture.

    Congratulations again for your work,

    Simon

I did but was quite disappointed withit, mainly because it has no web client.

        regards,

        Simon
