Using message quing (eg MSMQ)

Has anyone used MSMQ with Zabbix?
Do you think there would be a benefit in using messaging? I'd like to build it to create a workflow applet for Zabbix.
Is there an API or specific module (in Zabbix) where I should connect my MSMQ "connector"?
...or should I just connect the messaging to the database?
I'm not a PHP programmer, otherwise I'd just dig into the code and try to figure it out!
