    still can't understand triggers

    Hi there!

Please, tell me how to implement such scheme (some kind of parent-host scheme in Nagios): if a host #1 goes down, first of all check if a parent host #2 is active, if it's down, check if a parent host #3 is down etc... I really istucked in this part of migrating from nagios...
What do I want to have - If some host that's being checked, seems to be down, I want to check all the tree to find true source of a problem.

This is where Trigger Dependancies come into play, you setup a trigger for each "thing"...
    For Example:
    TWO Triggers:
    1) Determines if Server A is reachable or not
    2) Determines if LAN Switch is reachable or not

Just by themselves if the switch is powered off you will get an alert for both the switch being unreachable and the server being unreachable.

What it sounds like you want to do is setup a dependancy on the trigger for the server. You would go to the trigger setup, Under Trigger Dependancy find the trigger for the switch from the list, click add and then save. Now if the switch is unreachable you will not get an alert that the server is unreachable.
