OK zabbix is up and running. But before I add a host i was thinking about planning.

How should i set up every thing. I have webservers, ftp, dns mail switches routers servers with multiple deamons, servers with multiple ip-numbers.

For example what should i place in the hosts groups? Is it all my http services or my hardware server? It there any documentation about planning a installation somewere?

it all depends on your needs,

first of all, you have to know what you WANT to monitor, and what you NEED to monitor, is your core business an ebusiness site? or hosting? there is no absolute approach in organizing a supervision system.

After that, critical parameters should appear and you'll be able to organize them.
what you need to organize is what you need to monitor, other parameters that are not that important come after.
