Notifications when switch port becomes suspended?

We have a separate monitoring tool outside of Zabbix that is used solely so that IT can receive email notifications when a switch port becomes suspended. I'd like to do this through Zabbix, so that we can turn off that other appliance, but I can't figure out how. Any advice?

Hello shanslow what do you mean supsended switch port? That means you are using trunks/portchannel groups. and need to know when one of group member is down?
I'm also interested in this topic. would be great addition
I have read some about it and to obtain this feature we need a way to pull info from Switch via SNMP if specific interface is member of the trunk or not.

if somebody can support switch this part I could make it work at the zabbix side.

Yes, we have port security turned on. So that if someone comes in and plugs into a port while it is locked, it becomes suspended. We need to be alerted when this happens. We have SNMP, and I could help you with that side of it, if you can help me to get it to work...
