    DBforBix

    Hi all,
Is it possible to use DBforBix with a proxy? If possible, where would the DBforBix run, on the Master Zabbix server? We have multiple countries that talk via proxies to the Master Zabbix Server, but I would like to monitor Postgres and Oracle on the in country nodes as well

    Regards

You can put DBforBix wherever you want. Zabbix server, Zabbix proxy, or any other host.
But DBfoBix needs access to the trapper port of the Zabbix server or Zabbix proxy in dependency what the monitored database (Zabbix host) in Zabbix is configured for (with or without a proxy).

I suggest to do it this way. Put DBforBix on...:
    • ...Zabbix server host, when the server should monitor a database
    • ...a Zabbix proxy host, when the database is behind the proxy
    • ...the monitored database host, to allow local DBAs control over credentials and SQL statements.
