    Where are all the user contributed templates in the wiki?

    I see there are some really nice templates already in the wiki. I was hoping to see a lot more user contributed templates in the wiki by now. I would contribute some but I just started using Zabbix again a few days ago. I was hoping to start seeing templates for:

    Anything Cisco. Switches, Routers etc..
    Exchange Server
    SQL Server
    ISA Server

    More advanced and creative Windows Server templates. More specifically SNMP related templates. Exporting only takes 30 seconds.

    Creating these templates by hand takes hours. Not to mention for someone like me I still have a lot to learn regarding per_counter and PerfCounter and UserParameters and Triggers etc...

    This is also a good chance to show off your monitoring prowess with your sweet templates. Share your work with people that appreciate it most.

    Hold your horses. I'm pretty sure once 1.4.1 starts showing up you'll see more templates. For example I have zillions of custom items, but I imagine most people with a lot of weight on zabbix are running 1.1.[6,7].

    Basically, going to 1.4 right now is too risky

      I did not want the tone to come off "pushy".

      It was easy for me to jump to 1.4 as I had been waiting for it for 2 months and I have no production system to worry about. I am still in the testing phase.

        You should seach the forums as some users usually post their templates on threads although Alexei has created a spot where you can contribute your own templates and look at others, look around the site map.

          I was unable to find the official spot for uploading user-created templates. The templates at http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/doku.php?...uted_templates could use some tweaking. For instance, the zabbix_agentd for Linux firewalls, based on ipt, use "grep" then "wc". We could simplify this to a single process:
          Code:
          UserParameter=iptstate.tcp,iptstate -s | grep -c tcp
          UserParameter=iptstate.tcp.syn,iptstate -s | grep -c SYN
          UserParameter=iptstate.tcp.timewait,iptstate -s | grep -c TIME_WAIT
          UserParameter=iptstate.tcp.established,iptstate -s | grep -c ESTABLISHED
          UserParameter=iptstate.tcp.close,iptstate -s | grep -c CLOSE
          UserParameter=iptstate.udp,iptstate -s | grep -c udp
          UserParameter=iptstate.icmp,iptstate -s | grep -c icmp
          UserParameter=iptstate.other,iptstate -s -t | sed   '1d;2s/^.*OTHER: //;q'
          Many of the template "cut|cut|tr|cut" templates could be simplified with a single SED, as I did with iptstate.other.
