    Feeding Zabbix from Java programs

    Dear All,

I just wanted to let you know that I have written a tutorial that shows you how to feed data from Java programs straight into the Zabbix server.

If you have a little time to spare, please go through the tutorial and post any comments and corrections here, so that I may improve the text.

Replying to my own post: I have made the code into a sourceforge project.

I don't know why I didn't come across this earlier but this might be just what I'm looking for to monitor our coldfusion servers with zabbix. Still discovering the whole java world so i'll see if I can get some data out of jrun/coldfusion.

      Thanks

        Dear Atomist,

You didn't come across this earlier because this project is barely two weeks old. :-)

I'd love to hear from you if you do start using this and feel free to contact me by e-mail (it's on the site) if you have any question. Or better: post them here so others may benefit.

Just a few tips (though you may already know): make sure you use Java 1.5 or newer and read the documentation on using Java's jconsole. Once you have that running, the step to Zabbix is almost automatic.

          Hi Atomist,

I was wondering if you succeeded in monitoring a coldfusion server through the zapcat bridge ?

          Regards,
          Tom
