Configure Fortigate

If I want to use this template, how do I have to configure my fortigate unit?

thanks for the template, the overall problem with zabbix and snmp templates is that you cannot have snmp values as an item description. Every Fortigate unit has different ports so i made different templates for every Fortigate, just containing the port configuration. So far i only have these port templates for the FGT50B FGT60B and the FGT50A I hope zabbix will have a better snmp system in the next versions right now it is just too complicated to add many snmp hosts.

To configure Forti<insert stupid suffix> for SNMP:

1. Login To Web Interface
2. Navigate to: System -> Network
3. Select interface SNMP traffic will come from (internal?)
4. Check the 'SNMP' box
5. Click 'OK'

THEN:

1. Navigate to: System -> Config -> SNMP v1/v2c
2. Check 'Enable' ???
3. Enter Details etc.
4. Select 'Create New'
5. Enter More Details etc.

Should work....

sorry for double post, I did mention this briefly but then edit'ed it in my post as there was still something wrong.

In the original template, the data for interface traffic needs to be stored as a delta and use a custom multiplier of 8. (I believe the SNMP data is a 5 min traffic average which is why this needs to be done and stored as Kbps to keep as a small integer..)

I've just started using Zabbix and I have problems with the templates Welkin provided. Whenever I try to import any of them I get the error message:

Item "{HOSTNAME}:ifIn_iifDescr1" does not exist.

Any idea what this could be ?

I am currently working on zabbix 2.2.2 and I would like to know, how to monitor applications: Apache, IIS, Exchange and MySQL via SNMP? would there be templates for this purpose? Otherwise, How?

Hi

I am running Zabbix 2.0.8 and have a problem / requirement to do indepth monitoring of Fortigate devices in our environment. I know there is the complete Fortigate template set on Github but they keep on failing when trying to import them with a issue of line 41.

Please if anyone has anything for indepth monitoring of Fortigates I would realy appreciate some help.

Do you mind to share the Error Message and name of Imported Template?

It's hard to guess which one out of eight is incompatible with your environment.

I get this error for all of the above and they are all on

Well, I don't wan to offend you, but right now - 10 seconds ago - I created an .XML file from source code on github and successfully imported it into my Zabbix Server templates database.

May be because I have Zabbix Server 2.2.3, I had no issue?

Anyway, there are attached .xml file which I imported. Try it.
