In this case you must use STEP DOWN DC TO DC converter, absolute maxim POWER IN is 24 V DC.

Is it planned to built such a module with PoE and with more analogue and/or digital inputs?

        This year NO !

But I can made STEP DOWN CONVERTER , DC to DC or AC to DC , for my device, with RJ45 female connector for input and RJ45 female connector for output + one 2 pole connector (like in my picture green connector) for 12 V DC output

But the STEP DOWN CONVERTER must fits the PoE-Specifications, for example it must use a resistor to detect the Poe-Class (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_over_Ethernet).

How much will the converter cost, and when will it be ready for sale?

Approximatively 20 Euro, but I can't tell you when will be ready for sale ...

This is very cool stuff! Thanks for your effort.

Let me know if you are interested in more visibility of your product on ZABBIX site. I'm sure we could do something. This will be absolutely free of course.

                Hello Alexei,

Thank you very much. Yes I'm interested by your offer !

BTW. Do you know any possibility to send to agent, one or more commands when triggers or events is on event ?

                Thank you again,

                Best regards, Florin.

                  HW Agent / I/O ports

                  Hi Florin,

I received the hardware agent, it works really fine.

Still as I said I´m missing soume input/output ports.
I would like to put such a hardware agent in all the cabinets
in the factory, to monitore the temperature, but also switch
maybe the power on/off for some devices.

Also I´m thinking about to use Zabbix as a central building control system,
for .e.g. heater systems, air-condition systems, door control etc.

As the most of this systems have already Input/Output ports I´m searching
for a cheap and flexible input/output solution.
I think that you are very close to that solution.

Waht do I need to create my own programs for the hardware agent?

                  Gerald

                    Hello,

I'm glad that you like the product ...

I have a prototype board for AC switching, controlled by ZABBIX REMOTE COMMAND.

Unfortunately one single AC switch at this small device.

I have a bigger device, 8 TRIACS, AC switching, 5 up to 800 W , 3 up to 200 W, also can be controlled by ZABBIX REMOTE COMMAND.

To control this board, you have to create a REMOTE COMMAND in ACTIONS similar to this : pic : pin[0]={STATUS} , that will sent the pin[0]=ON or pin[0]=OFF to the device, on TRIGGER chance.

I'm also thinking of creating pin[0]=RST to automate an OFF/ON transition, very good for reseting remote devices.

Regarding the custom made software, I can make any software. You can give me more details about your desired configuration (via MAIL if you want) and will see what we can do.

Thank you very much, regards Florin.

Quick update. I've had mine running for a few weeks now and overall I'm very happy with this device. I'm going to pick up a few more digital thermometers and expand my temperature monitoring. Right now all I am monitoring is the temperature in my apartment. I hope to soon monitor the temperature inside some computer systems. I'm also considering seeing if I can get the unit to monitor amperage through the use of the voltage sensors.

Now for the other side, "The Negatives" if you will. Overall they're pretty minor. The unit uses a fixed IP address for configuration of the internal firmware. For most people this won't be a problem, however I can see this being an issue if you have more than one device to configure or your network uses the address space the box sits in. When you're configuring the device you need to remove a jumper before powering up the device. After you've configured it you need to replace the jumper. If memory serves me correctly I reseated the jumper before rebooting the device (power off/on). This was not very clearly documented, but was not a blocker. I was however a little nervous about causing the device to brick but this was not an issue.

In future versions I agree having the ability to work with Power Over Ethernet would be a huge plus.

Overall I feel the value for money is fantastic and the native ability for it to understand Zabbix is a huge plus in my mind. If you're in the US and you order be patient. Mine took about 3-4 weeks to get here. It is WELL worth the wait.

I'm definately very happy with the device. :-)

New HWZA hardware and software available soon

                          Hello all,

New HWZA hardware & software will be available very soon.

You can see a working demo here : http://monitor.webmon.ro/screens.php?period=172800

There are two HWZA agents, with HWZA_V3_5 software, connected to ZABBIX SERVER version 1.6

There are monitoring Server temperature, Indoor temperature, 1 meter and 4 meter high from the ground, Outdoor temperature and Heating temperature agent input and output.

                          Best regards,
                          Florin.

                            Hello,

I have implemented SNMP server on HWZA board !

Also I have HWZA boad with GSM module. (SMS server)

Unfortunately the Source Code can't be open source , but hex file and boards will be available in short time ...

                            Happy New Year !

When will a Version with Power over Ethernet of the Hardware Zabbix Agent be available?

And for which price do you sell the AC switch devices?

Well, I have AC to DC switch converters (110 - 240V AC to 12V DC, 500mA), 10 Euro/pcs, but made in China... and without any guaranty. For this reason I don't want to sell this product ...
