    Zabbix - VPS and NVPS

    Hello all,

I attempted to look for this information online and was unable to locate it anywhere. For the Zabbix cloud packages, is there a difference between vps and nvps? There are times where our server, when receiving data from our proxies, spikes up to 130 values per second. There are also many times where it will be a low value like 20 values per second. On the dashboard we also have the chart that states the required server performance in nvps which is currently at 79 or so and we have the 100 nvps cloud package. My question is, which value should be considered for our cloud tier? Thanks for the help in advance.

This is indeed not a clear metric.
I find this metric lacks a clearer definition in the documentation.

Looking at the documentation, specifically at the internal items, VPS is loosely referred to as values written to the database. It doesn't even say "values per second".

If we look at the proxy documentation, we see the VPS metric being referred to as "the number of values that need to be collected per second".

So, is it values per second written to the database, or is it values per second arriving or being processed by the Zabbix Server?

In modern documentation, the abbreviation VPS appears literally twice.

I think it has no special meaning. It can be assumed that wherever VPS is mentioned, NVPS is meant

Perhaps these acronyms could be standardized in the Zabbix interface and documentation.
This would avoid misunderstandings and assumptions.
