support for snmpwalk and SNMP tables?

    Hi,

Anybody know if it is supported by zabbix snmpwallk and SNMP tables?. If not, I wonder it there is any plan to implement it. Do you know anybody a workaround for dynamic tables?. Thanks

what do you refer to by snmpwalk and "snmp tables" ?
if you mean frontend integration of snmpwalk, no.

i'm not sure what "snmp tables" refer to - mibs ? what support would you like to see ?
there are feature requests about ui integrated snmpwalk where one could directly configure the result, but no implementation so far.

"dynamic tables' - again, depends on what you meant by that. maybe dynamix indexes (see manual for more detail) are what you want.

      SNMP walk

      richlv, thanks for your reply.
About snmpwalk, I'm refering to "snmpwalk is an SNMP application that uses SNMP GETNEXT requests to query a network entity for a tree of information". Is is possible get the result of this application directly on Zabbix.
For example, i need to monitor the MAC and routing table on switches and routers and to request these there is a "network" OID and the rest of the OIDs are dynamic (the number of the MAC could change) then you don't know the OID number. Then the only way to get this OIDs are using snmpwalk.
I saw on the forums some people that made scripts that using snmpwalk generate templates but this is not useful to check dynamic OIDs like MAC or routing tables. This situation is an example but there are many times when you monitor a network that you need the support for snmpwalk.

      Thanks for your help.

        Dynamic indexes

Respect to the dynamic indexes that you named before

<base OID of data>[“index”,”<base OID of index>”,”<string to search for>”]

I try to use ifName OID but it doesnt get it?. is this a problem the net-snmp or with Zabbix?. If I install addicional MIBs on net-snmp, will it work?

        Thanks

            SNMP walk

            Thanks for you reply.
            <snmp_oid>ifInMulticastPkts[index,ifName,fe.1.17]</snmp_oid>

Do you know if it is possible to do the next

            <snmp_oid>ifInMulticastPkts[index,ifName,fe.1.17][index,ifName,fe.1.17]</snmp_oid>

It's only an example that it's not valid of using two dynamics indexes to complete the OID

Please, Do you know there is roadmap to integrate snmpwalk in Zabbix?. Thanks

ahh, so the first one works, but this does not ? yeah, such a syntax is not supported
