    1.7.4 localization

    Hi,

I have just checked 1.7.4 and I don't see any new string in locales/en_en.inc.php compared to 1.7.3.
As new map editor is not localized (as stated in my post), is a new beta planned before 1.8 ?

    Regards,
    Alixen

I think it is already localized! It was made after 1.7.4.

      Alexei, thank you for answer.
Since I don't track nightly builds but only published alpha and beta releases, I didn't know that.

However, for me "localized" does not mean that all string "can" be translated but that they actually are. If translation is not complete when 1.8 is released, we will have to maintain our own patches. We can do that (we did it for 1.4 and 1.6) and it is what I am trying to avoid for 1.8.

What is your advise to achieve that ?
Should I submit an updated translation based on latest nightly build or can I wait for a new beta release ?

      Regards,

We expect absolutely minimal changes in the front-end. So if you submit your translation within 2-3 hours it will be included into the official 1.8!

        Thanks for your effort!

I have joined an updated french translation.
It is based on rev. 8541 nightly build.
I have checked the new map editor an all messages are translated.
Map editor usability has been greatly improved.

Thank you for all the good work you have done for 1.8 !

          Regards,

btw, there's a very experimental service for translators now. you can subscribe to mailing list at http://groups.google.com/group/zabbix_translators - whenever english locale will change, an email will be sent with svn diff, so that you can easily see what exactly has changed and whether it warrants your attention.

email is sent for each branch separately, so a change in both trunk and some branch will result in two emails.
