API Changes from 1.8.1 SVN to 1.8.1 release

I noticed a change from one of the 1.8.1 dev releases to the 1.8.1 release. You can no longer ack events by triggerid. All of the code was removed for event acknowledgement using triggerid. Was there a reason for this? If so, do you think this will be added again in one of the API classes? Will something break if I continue to use the event class from the dev release?
