    ETA for 1.1 beta3?

Thanks for your hard work, I was just wondering if there was an updated ETA for 1.1 beta3? I've been patiently waiting for this release to fix the templating issues in the frontend, but I'm running up against a deadline and now I need to most likely deploy what we've got so far (1.1 beta 2), or if it will be out later this week I can probably delay and not have to upgrade.

Can you give me an estimate on when it will be available?

    Thanks,
    Luke

5th of December is ETA for ZABBIX 1.1beta3. It will include many changes that's why we pay serious attention to testing. I also expect significant changes in the documentation.

At present, all of the patches listed in the patch second have been applied, and then some.

                Eta

                Hello

Be patient, I'm waitting a bit longer, but still I don't see external checks in the code. Could please smb answer me , will this be ever supported , because I have a lot of private checks which cannot be integrated in to the main core.

                ps Zabbix - great stuff

Yes, the external checks will be supported in ZABBIX 1.1, not in 1.1beta3.

I don't think it's released already... is beta 3 posponed? Do we have new ETA for that?

Not a criticism to dev's, but from my limited history with beta's I havent seen an 1st ETA actually come true just yet.

                      It will come.

Not sure, maybe I started lately... but looks like beta2 was on time I mean ETA actually came true .

I just poked around in the CVS, and Beta3 is shapping up to be pretty cool. My favorite changes are:
                          - Automatically retrying unsupported items
                          - Calculated graph y axis is based on the average of values

and on the short TODO list:
                          - Set the number of displayed item histories when showing plain text items in a screen

It looks like good work Devs. Thanks for your hard work! I look forward to trying it out.

                          Nate

So are custom UserParameter values not currently supported in 1.1beta2 or beta3? Am I thinking of something else?

This sounds really cool if I understand you correctly.

One thing that I'd like to see is increased support for the built-in checks. Specifically:
                            • Being able to use check_service, check_service_perf on windows machines
                            • Being able to monitor network traffic on my OpenBSD 3.8 box
                            • disktotal, diskfree, diskused working reliably (don't seem to work at all on my linux/bsd boxes, disktotal doesn't work on my windows box)
                            • System uptime not working on the latest win32 agent
                            • perf_counter working reliably. Users have reported special characters such as '_' not working properly. I haven't been able to get it working on my boxes with '_' in the network interface names.

Would it help the zabbix devs if I actually went through and documented what worked and what didn't?

                              Just released... but ugh...

It was just released! But still no template fixes...

Thanks for your effort. Will we realistically see these fixes sometime in 2005?
