    Which alpha version?

I still come back to the question of: Which was the last alpha version in which templating and icmpping still worked?

Please don't tell me that beta5 will be out soon and that I should just wait for it. I need to deploy something now and I'm just wondering which alpha version was the last one that was fairly stable.

    Thanks for your responses.

Why not test them all? It might be faster to do that than wait for someone else to have an answer for your specific needs.

I don't know about templates, but icmpping last worked for me in 1.1b2.

Yepp, icmpping and icmpsec working fantastic with zabbix-1.1beta2. I still use this check with trigger and actions. Have you got the right syntax?

Ok, well, if anyone else is interested in knowing, it appears that 1.1alpha10 is the most stable version of Zabbix that I have used. Some major changes went into the code structure in alpha11 and it appears that Zabbix has never recovered the stability it once had.

I'm all for adding new features, but we're in beta now, why do new features get added during beta? Once a software product reaches beta, doesn't a feature freeze usually go into effect?

I'm just a loyal Zabbix user concerned about the stability of the product. Let's not break working features just to add a few new ones.

Thanks, I guess I'll go with alpha10 too
