After upgrading to b5, I was intrigued with the new action menus. I looked for documentation (http://www.zabbix.com/manual/v1.1/we...ns.action.php), no luck.
My first impression was some of fear I've got a mess. I had many actions that appeared the same because of the {HOSTNAME} macro. Oh no!
After deeper inspection, it appeared I could delete all my actions and replace them all with one action. Wow cool.
I then added an action that I thought would be the only action I might ever need and tested an agent. I received multiple alerts because I didn't delete old actions, which is good to know. You will receive an alert for every match. Action alerts don't 'de-duplicate'. We'll see if the non de-duplication is good or bad. I really won't know till I get more creative with this.
