1.1b5 problems

I am trying to install 1.1b5 for use on Suse Linux Enterprise server.

But when I start the server init script it says it starts succesfully but there is no zabbix_server log or pid file and also the port 10051 is not opened by the server init script.

All config files are in the correct places and connects to the localhost database with correct username and password.

The agentd starts up correct , it creates log and pid file and it opens up port 10050.

Any ideas ....

this sounds like a permission issue to me. does the server have permission to write the log file?

Yes it does , it doesn't work in the standard /tmp dir , i alos se ta group for teh system and teh zabbixto access a folder as group , and asked zabbix to create log and pid file there and still doesnt work.

What I have noticed though today is that my mysql.sock path is wrong in both conf files.
