Ping testing multiple IP addresses on the same host

I'm using Zabbix 1.9.5 (very impressive by the way, quite stable so far) and I've added some additional IP addresses for a few of my hosts. I've come across an issue in that it's not possible to use the same key for different addresses on the same, since a key can only be used once per host. This seems a bit counter-intuitive given the fact that we finally have support for multiple IPs per host, but can't use the functionality to its full extent. At the very least I would like to be able to perform basic tests such as ping tests for multiple addresses on a single host. Is there any hack whereby this can be achieved, or are there plans to support key reuse in an upcoming version?

well... one ugly, ugly hack would be to have multiple ping items with different params (thus the key would be different. for example, for one interface you could specify default ping count, for another default interval etc. thus pings would all be the same and you would get multiple items, essentially doing the same on a single host.

ability to have item checked on multiple interfaces would be interesting indeed, but that's not on the short term plans
