Heavy MySQL load...

The latest zabbix beta's seem to be hitting mysql a lot harder than the older versions.

My server used to idle around 10%, then 20% and now 50% total CPU usage.

I have optimised mysqld as much as I can, given it a fair amount of RAM (uses about 200MB). The data is about 800MB/10,000,000 rows.

I might just upgrade the server, but I didnt think I would hit a performance wall so soon.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with zabbix?

Database size is 13.7 Gb. But i'm use SCSI disk for store this
I'm use 512Mb example my.cnf for tune MySQL.

I'm guessing that you don't have most of the InnoDB stuff tuned (as i don't believe it is done so by default in the 512mb my.cnf file)... and since Zabbix uses InnoDB exclusively (from what i can see) you may want to look into those InnoDB parameters for MySQL...

This is not related to changes in the software. Recent versions of ZABBIX do not use DB heavier than previous betas/alphas.

Pay attention to tuning of you database and(or) housekeeping parameters.
