Item interval change clear the history!!!

Hi everyone,

I have found a big problem (i think its big, because it had a big impact). When we change an item interval, the item history is cleared. We have lost our link utilization statistics because of that.

How can we change the collecting interval of an item without killing the history?

I think that the item edit process should behave in different way.

i've done this before and never lost data.. are you sure you used the "update" button... and not something else?

Yeah, I've updated just about everything you can update about an item without losing data. Two questions:
- What version of Zabbix are you using?
- To echo KarmaPolice, are you sure you updated instead of deleting the item and making it again, because that will surely clear the item's history?

If you did simply do an update, and you're using the most recent version of Zabbix, then yeah, that's a big bug.

I am using zabbix 1.1 beta8. The item is a child from a template and i have updated the interval on the template. After that the child item's history is cleared.

I have tried to update a single item that didn't came from a template and it works. So it can be a bug with the template system.
