    Interface Traffic "Not supported"

    Dear All!

I'm wondering that why is Incoming/Outgoing traffic on interface * (*min) in "Not supported" state on zabbix 1.1beta8. Why? Is zabbix server, or agent not supporting? How can I debug this? I'we tried with zabbix servers/agents on both Slackware GNU/Linux and on OSX.

I remember, that on zabbix 1.0 this traffic monitoring worked well.

    Yours:

    I'm sorry, I'm seeing this in zabbix_server.log

Parameter [netloadout5[lo]] is not supported by agent on host [hitz] Old status [0]

OK. But how can agent be made to support this?

have you tried "zabbix_agentd -p" on client console
      or "zabbix_get -s<client-pc> -k<item_key>" at server side ?
      Big ZABBIX is watching you!
(... and my 48 hosts, 4513 items, 1280 triggers via zabbix v1.6 on CentOS 5.0)

        zabbix_get -s 127.0.0.1 -k netloadin1[lo]
        ZBX_NOTSUPPORTED

What is needed to support this?

          Is this a beta8 agent?

if so, the syntax is wrong.. it's been changed. check the docs.

I don't uderstand. This is written on the Host.Unix Template, everywhere. For example: netloadin1[eth1]

            zabbix_get -s 127.0.0.1 -k net.if.in[lo]
            2964695081

The above means _not_ the load, this means 2.8GB total incoming traffic.
I need the load, how can I get it?

              try: net.if.in[lo]
with Store value Delta (speed per second).
That should get you the traffic in Byte/s
with multiplier 8 you have Bit/s

Yes, You are right. Right at the moment I'we made exactly the same.

So this thread is a bugreport of the unix templates.

                THX for everyone.

Yes, the problem is that the database update scripts do not change your default templates that you have.. they merely make the table alterations. Had you installed the db from scratch with 1.1beta8, the items would have been correct.

I'we downloaded the source from the zabbix website's sourceforge link.

It is a brand new install from:
                    zabbix-1.1beta8/create/mysql/schema.sql
                    zabbix-1.1beta8/create/data/data.sql

                      OOPS

you are correct. It only looks like SOME of the items in the new data.sql file have been updated to the new syntax.

                      sorry for the confusion.
