    Thanks Elkor......I tried this but I still get false network errors. I really need to understand how zabbix determines this so I can diagnose. If its based off of pings than i see where this could be the problem as many ISP's, Datacenters, limit the icmp requests and set those packets to a lower priority. So this could be the cause if zabbix uses it in calculations to determine an unreachable host.
    I even setup beta9 fresh install and I get the same errors.

      I haven't looked but I'm positive it isn't based on pings.

      the message is probably the output of tcp_connect() (or equivilent) to the remote zabbix agent. on the specified port
