Yet another template problem.

I have read up on most of the common problems people have with templates, and I'm quite sure I'm using the right approach on this. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's what I'm doing. I create several templates. One with all the stuff to check the C drive, one to check my Exchange services, another one to check basic things like CPU usage. You get the point. Once I'm done with this I create a new host and I use the host/templates linkage page to link some of my templates to my host.

But then, nothing is copied. My new host remains empty.

What am I doing wrong? I'm using beta6. Is there a bug in it that explains my problem?

Gah, I just upgraded to 1.1beta9 to see if I'd have any luck with that. The whole system has turned around and now it doesn't seem to be possible to use my nice approach anymore. Time to turn the whole thing around.

The idea behind templates in beta6 was superior to this one. Too bad it didn't work. Now it is impossible to link multiple templates to one host. A big loss.

I agree. However we found that previous templating was quite difficult to understand (perhaps bad implementation?) and we decided to sacrifice its flexibility. New approach is less flexible. We do not plan to change it in 1.1.

I'm looking forward to implement many-to-many linkage between hosts and templates in future versions.
