    Maps: Number of problems per location

    On one of the screenshots on the website I see something I can't figure out how to do. It doesn't seem to be described in the manual.

    It looks like this shows one icon for each group, and shows the amount of problems in them. Is this functionality available yet, or is this meant to be for the final?

    The functionality has been introduced in 1.1beta9. When adding an element to a map, select Type="Map", the rest is quite obvious...

      Are we using the same beta9?

      I don't have such a thing. Look at this screenshot.

        Did you updated from a previous beta version? If so, did you also upgraded the frontend?

          Of course I did upgrade the frontend as well. I upgraded from beta6.

          You can even tell by looking at the text size.

            Lower your "tone", I'm only trying to help.

            Double check your frontend files, and check if the db updates went well.

              Hi all,

              I am able to acknowledge this problem. I am using a fresh install of beta9 and there is no option "map" to select as an element.

              I checked the frontend-php-files and there is for example the constant SYSMAP_ELEMENT_TYPE_MAP defined. However, I am not able to the select "map" as an element. The option for value 1 is missing:

              HTML-code:
              <td class="form_row_r">
              <select class="biginput" name="elementtype" size="1" onChange="submit()">
              <option value="0" selected="selected">Host</option>
              <option value="2">Image</option>
              </select></td>

              defines.php:
              define("SYSMAP_ELEMENT_TYPE_HOST", 0);
              define("SYSMAP_ELEMENT_TYPE_MAP", 1);
              define("SYSMAP_ELEMENT_TYPE_IMAGE", 2);

                Actually there is no "tone" there, it's just the way you interpret it. ;P (Yes, this reply DOES have a "tone")

                Glad to see I'm not the only one with this Spindi. Let's try beta10.

                    I'm sorry too, it's not just your fault. I could have chosen better words.

                      Beta10 is here and I'm still having this problem. Did beta10 solve anything for you spindi?

                      [edit]
                      I was just skimming through the PHP code and I found out that I didn't understand the logic behind it. I wanted one map, but it looks like you need to set up other maps to be able to use the map image type. Sorry for my complaining guys!

                          I'm not getting the map type either (in 1.1), maybe there is something we are missing?

                            you need to create more than one map first guys. cant nest a sub-map if there is no sub-map to nest

                              Nested maps won't show number of problems

                              Ok, I've managed to create a series of maps for various network segments which are nested into one primary map for the entire network. When I have a trigger expression become true, my segment maps will change the icon and show the textual representation of the problem as expected, but my primary map will only change the icon. The text below the icon for the nested map with the problem always reads "OK".

                              Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
