    zabbix geust user

    hi,

i installed a fresh 1.3.3 zabbix and it seems to me that the guest user can see the hosts list and a lot of informations. Is there a way to have non logged user limited to strictly nothing but the login prompt ?

I have been unable to remove the guest user or restrict the right it have. Any idea ?

    regards,
    Ghislain.

This may seem like a stupid question, but how can I set the default permissions to hide?

      Many thanks,
      Matt

Ok, it's somehow "hidden" - no pun intended, but I couldn't resist :-)

Go to: Administrations / Users / "guest"

At the bottom of the form - just above the "Save" "Delete", "Cancel" buttons,
there is a line showing User Rights (Show)
If you click on the Show link, you'll see the user rights and can manage
        them.

        Have fun,

        Norbert.

Thanks Norbert, but once you've unhidden the user rights section, how does one edit them? I can't seem to drag and drop anything from the combo boxes. I must be missing something...

          Many thanks,
          Matt

            You are right.

Managing the rights is only possible for user groups, not for single users.
If you really want to set the rights for a single user, you have to create
a group for that user, too.
It's like the "modern" user management on Linux, where every user
is put into his own group of the same name as the user by default

It is not as flexible as possible, but for me it is sufficient.
Most of our users will be in a group, anyway.

            Regards,

            Norbert.
