Import/Export issue

It seems like the export will unlink a host from its template, and give independent items/... to that host. Is is possible to preserve the relationship in the export? If the relationship is lost, then the usefulness of export is limited. Or am I doing something wrong?

This is with 1.3.* release.

Currently the export gives you a "flat" data without template linkage information. We will evaluate your suggestion, hopefully it will be impemented soon.

Preserve the linkage will also have much smaller/cleaner export files, and can be used as a way to upgrade to future Zabbix versions(or move installation to a new box): export data from old version, fresh install new zabbix, import. Right now I'm finding it difficult to move configuration (hosts/items/...) into new boxes without redoing it manually.
