Reminder of some open bugs that need to be solved before final release

Hi,

As I see that the 1.4 release is coming soon, I'm making a list of some blocking or serious bugs I've found recently.

First some configuration/compilation issues:

• libcurl not found if using --enable-static : http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6127
• Net-SNMP configuration broken again (without --enable-static) : http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5996 and http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5997

I still have some issues on my test platforms:

• The "status" item does not work on any of my 2 platforms
• "icmpping" and "icmppingsec" work on one zabbix server but not on the other (both running 1.3.9). On one of my installation, these 2 items suddenly stopped returning values 10 days ago. Whatever I do I cannot get them to work again but I have not found any suspicious error or warning in the logs.

I solved the ping problem. Apparently the setuid bit of the "/usr/sbin/fping" program had disappeared.. So this is not a real issue, sorry.

But, i still have a problem with "status", which seems to act erratically: one some hosts it is up, on some other it is down, on most servers it was not even calculated once.

I'm running 1.4 r4178, and even hosts added today do not have any "status" value. Every host has at least "icmpping*" defined plus some custom items defined as external scripts.

I don't know where to look or what specific debug message I must look at...

Are we talking about trigger status here? I had same problem couple of month back, and I believe I even sent in a patch in private (not sure if it's the correct fix).

Also after zabbix server restarts, the status seems to be out of whack. To solve this I have to go to each trigger and do a save, then the status seems to be ok.

Another problem I had a long time back (someone just mentioned it again): Template graphs in a screen become invalid if you go back to the template graph and do a save.

BTW, I haven't tried the later svn code yet.

While we're on the subject of changes before 1.4. I have couple of more requests:

1) how do I backfill some missing samples into Zabbix? Say I missed bunch of item data and I want to save them into Zabbix, each item with old timestamp. How do I do this? This is needed so that Zabbix has a complete history of items. (Problem caused by network outage, etc).

2) Import/export with proper template linkage. This will help manage a large installation if I have tons of hosts (linked to a template).
