I read somewhere in the forum that the ZABBIX server silently truncates received information to 255 characters. If this is the case, then no check would be able to return more than 255 char of data. If this is the case, are there plans to change the behavoir?

spending some further thought on this:
when increasing the size below the usal packet size (like +/- 1400bytes) maybe one would not have to deal with fragmentation.
