    Syntax for monitoring logfile

The latest version 1.1alpha9 features logfile monitoring log[*] for active agent (ChangeLog).
I did not find any description of the item syntax for using this feature.

Try log[filename]. For example, log[/var/log/messages]. Item's type must be Active Check.

Note that this functionality is quite useless at the moment (1.1alpha9). Monitoring of log files will be significantly improved in 1.1alpha10, and it will not be backward compatible. Use at your own risk.

          Triggers

Got the logs all going, next question...

Can we set triggers for log events?

Re: Syntax for monitoring logfile + buglet

I can't see any suitable trigger function for log files. I was thinking of using logcheck on the monitored machines and then shoving the output of that into zabbix.

BTW viewing the history of a log as plain text there is a blank line between each line which shouldn't be there.

            Cheers,

            Adrian
