DM with 1.4 and 1.6 possible?

Hi,

will it be possible to have both 1.6 and 1.4 nodes in a distributed setup? That is, can 1.4 and 1.6 servers talk to each other properly?

We already made significant improvements in the distributed monitoring module in pre 1.6. It is very likely that 1.4.x and 1.6.x nodes will not be compatible.

However I am pretty sure that upgrade path to 1.6 will be quite straight forward, so the migration will be simple and painless.
