    UTF8 ready front-end / german charachters

    Hi Alexei,

the new beta version has a bug with UTF8.
I cannot create a new item, trigger, action with german charachters üöä... .
    I get this error:

Warning. Field [key] - multibyte chars are restricted

I have tested this with IE 7 and Firefox.

Non English characters are not supposed to work in 1.6. This will be fixed in later releases.

What a pity, I monitor 300 Windows Server.
This funktion would be very helpful.

On the website it is listed as already done.

      Planned Functionality of ZABBIX v1.6

      UTF8 ready front-end Development -> Done ;Testing -> Done

The GUI is ready, yet the multi-byte characters are disabled not to confuse ZABBIX server which does not support UTF8 yet.

I hope it will be made in one of 1.6.x releases.

This will make monitoring of some Performance Counters on german
              versions of Windows impossible

Luckily we are just using english language versions

                Hi

And using any language other than english, e.g. german, for the GUI
will be impossible because of this restriction.

I know it's not easy to implement and it will change in the future, but:

Wouldn't it be possible to restrict the non-multibyte characters
to inserts into / updates to the DB, only ?

As long as the data just stays inside the GUI (history bar), there is no need for this
                restriction, isn't it ?

                Regards

                Norbert.
