    Zabbix Proxy Server Question

Is it possible to suppress the events from the devices that are being monitored by a proxy server in the event that the proxy goes down? i.e. I have several servers at a remote site, and I shutdown the proxy server process and zabbix alerted on all the availability triggers for the nodes at the site, and nothing about the proxy server.

    Thoughts/opinions?

I do not remember if this has already been implemented, but the proxies are supposed to send heart beat messages, which could be used for availability checks.

      Alexei,
this is quite an interesting issue.

first, if how could we use heatbeat message ? Is there an item or a zabbix internal ?

Could it be implemented directly in zabbix, with a web page like the "node" one and items/triggers ready to monitor a node/proxy ?

Besides, I am wondering where can I configure a node on the 1.5.3 interface ?
I do not see the menu Administration -> Node

      thx,
      vinny
