    Proxy for 1200 hosts

I have 1200 hosts in remote place. I have approximately 5 itens for host.

I will use a proxy with this specification:

    2 Cores 2GHz
    4 GB RAM
    300 HD SATA

I need improve something in this server? Is there some documentation about specify hardware for proxy in large enviroment?

I don't believe there is any hardware documentation regarding this subject.

The proxy is not limited by the number of host or items but the nvps it will need to operate at.

The deciding factor is what is your update intervals for your 5 items per host.
If you are polling once a min for each you are looking around 100nvps which you should be able to accomplish with no problem with the specs you listed. The only thing you may have to do is modify the number of the type of pollers you will be using.

I run between 250-550nvps on my proxies with no problems.
my proxies are virtual: 2 cores, 2GB ram

      host limit

I have problem when I try to monitor >300 hosts with just one proxy: http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25468
if it doesn't appear only with postgresql backend then you can expect this problem too.

for quesion like that, I think your vps, items' number is more important that host number.
