Is it normal for my database to reach that size?

After we migrated from Zabbix version 1.8 to version 4.0.2, we increased the number of registered hosts from 400 to 857 (current value).

Our database has 85G today and is growing 1G per day. The disk where it is has 200G, so something needs to be done, the faster the better.

We have already disabled several items and triggers in templates, but the growth of 1G / day remains. Is this growth normal? What tips do you, experienced users, give me?

This disk size was poorly calculated, in your eyes, considering that, most likely, we will not exceed 1000 hosts so soon?

If expanding the storage is not an option, you may want to review the history and trends retention periods. Also, do you have housekeeper setup?

Is mysql set to file-per-table? Are you partitioning or using housekeeper?

We're using a housekeeper. And yes, it is full of files per table. What I started doing the day before yesterday was to increase the collection interval, there was a Windows template and a Linux template with several items with 30s intervals. We did not install pure version 4.0.2 but migrated from version 1.8 to 2.0 and 2.0 to 4.0.2, and we are inheriting several older items that are either no longer useful or have very small collection intervals . Our bank is growing 1G per day and I'm worried trying to sort it out.

I think you have to run mysql "optimize table" to reclaim disk space from innodb "file-per-table" files. This will lock the table while it runs and will take some time on large tables.

My database grow 5GB per two day.

database have 270GB and we monitor 1898 host.

i not use 30s intervals. we use monimal interval as 60s (standard 120s)

and we delete not needed item (Filesystem etc.) housekeeper start for 1h and working 100% by 20 minutes.
