You can create a bug report on that if you really need this. I did not find any ZBX on this. Only a feature request to show this status value in frontend.
    Ingus,
great, thanks a lot for your time,
I will open a bug report.
as you suggest, I will split to small ip ranges and change check output to text - it will be more flexible and not depend of discovery rules name.
you help me so much, many many thanks !!!!

hope to see you suggestion/help in my new future posts (I will send you the link) :-)

    Thanks again !!!!

        Ingus,

        Need your help again :-)

I opened the feature request regarding auto registration based on HostMetadata :

Do you know what should be done in order to get any response/comments from Zabbix team ?

I didn't receive any response regarding my previous feature request and I am afraid that it will happened again regarding this one (:-

        Thanks !

          Hi Natalia,

Nice to hear from you again!

Yes, I reviewed all your submitted tickets. I cannot give you any estimates on how long time would it take to develop the features you are requesting. You see, there are currently 1408 open feature requests and 1025 open bug reports. As you can imagine, it takes time and resources to develop, so it cannot be done in a day.

Please don't worry that you have not received any response form developers yet. It can take some time. However, please try to avoid posting repeated requests or reminders about your issues. There are plenty of people doing that but it will not speed up the development in any way.

There are two things you can do -
          1. get people to vote for your issue. I see you have 3 votes already for ZBXNEXT-2365. the more votes you get, the more devs will prioritize the issue.
          or
          2. If you are in real need of this functionality, you are always welcome to contact Zabbix sales and ask for development services.

          Best Regards,
          Ingus

I think about more simple solution :-)
I replace all my 50 checks with one script (defined via UserParameter) that output list of services installed on the host separate with ",".
in Discovery rule I run this script via Agent check
in Actions I define , for example:
if Receive value like jboss add to JBoss host group
if Receive value like apache add to Apache host group
            i etc.

I think, even don't need to split ip range to small ranges
            Testing this now ...

                Natalia,

Great solution! Please let us know how it works.

                Timeout
setting in zabbix_server.conf file will be important here. If you will have any problems, check that first.

                  Natalia,

To be clear, I never meant that you are posting repeatedly. Your posts both here in forum and in bug tracker are very correct and descriptive.

I am glad you understand the way how things are going with development. Sure, we are improving the product all the time. The new 2.4 is under way, so devs are working hard on that now. Meanwhile you see that you can always get community support and solutions as well.

                  Best Regards,

Timeout already set to max value : 30
since I had already timeout problem with some checks and increased it.

                    Thanks anyway :-)

Update : discovery completed during 22 hours ! So I will stay with this solution or maybe split to 2 ip ranges ...

btw, I think there were some wrong changes regarding network discovery in v2.2.4 :

                      1. nextcheck stay 0 even when discovery completed
                      2. in dashboard in "Discovery status" I will wrong statistics : UP 1544 and Down 383 but in Monitoring -> Discovery I see total number of 396 devices
                      3. save of discovery rule delete it from DB and recreate instead of just update
                      (bug that I already sent)

It's not critical, I can downgrade to 2.2.3 but I hope that it will not happened in 2.4

                      Do you think I should open bug regarding 1. & 2. ?

Thanks a lot for your help!

                        Hi Ingus,

                        I find another bug (:-

"and" and "Received value like " don't work in CONFIGURATION->Actions->Discovery condition, for example,

discovery output from one check is centos, jboss,
and from another check : qa,

                        so I create action :

                        Received value like jboss,
                        and
                        Received value like qa

the operation : Add to "QA Jboss" host group

work only if I define "OR" or using different type, for example "Received value" and "Discovery check"

Do you have any suggestion for workaround this bug?

                        Thanks a lot !

                          Hi Natalia,

Let's wait for developers to comment your bug report but I don't think really that it is a bug. (If I understood the situation correct)

I did not run any tests on your issue but did you try to set the Type of calculation to AND?
                          (A) and (B and C) and (D) and (E)

                          Doesn't it work like that?

                          Best Regards,

in discovery rule I am running 3 agent checks with output in format "text"

in actions I just using one "and" :

                            Received value like jboss,
                            and
                            Received value like qa

Sorry, but I don't understand what is wrong here ?

Thanks a lot for your help!

I am so sorry, I don't really understand your issue then.

So you mean that you create an action with only two conditions "Received value like ...", using AND and it does not work? Correct?
