    Partitioning history tables

    Hi All,

Have someone tried to partition 'history_uint_sync'?

How can I avoid the following error when I start to partition it?
ERROR 1503 (HY000) at line 1: A PRIMARY KEY must include all columns in the table's partitioning function

    Cheers

        Partition Key vs Primary Key

        Quoted from the MySQL site:

"Beginning with MySQL 5.1.5, the column or columns used as the partitioning key must comprise part or all of the table's primary key, if the table has one."

Did you specify all of the column(s) for the partition key that are used in the primary key for the table?
