    Zabbix HA architecture

    Hello,

I'm planning to build an HA architecture with Zabbix on 2 datacenters.
Each DC monitors the local devices and each Zabbix server is monitoring each other.
Pretty simple, but I want a centralized management / view of the whole thing.
I was pretty simple with nodes in Zabbix 2.2, but I can't reproduce this in 2.4.5.
I could use 1 server with 2 proxies but got a SPOF problem in that case (only one server able to send notifications)

If you have a solution, you'll be my savior (and prevent me from switching to nagios / mk_check)

    BR

Your situation looks a lot like the one I'm currently deploying. I choosed the following setup:

    Primary datacenter:
    - Main Zabbix Server
    - Zabbix Proxy per cluster (serverrack of VMware cluster)

This primary datacenter has lots of HA components, so my servers are pretty save (redundant power, RAID disks, etc.) But the whole situation depended on a working API-call to our SMS-provider for escallation.

In a remote datacenter I installed an other Zabbix Server. This server checks the Zabbix Server in my primary datacenter.

For additional monitoring I added Zabbix Proxy to the same remote server, so I can do external checks (from the remote datacenter) and monitor them by my main server.

This way I have all my items, triggers, etc. in one place (my primary datacenter, on my main Zabbix Server). But for major outages I have my remote Zabbix Server which will escallate high prio panic disaster messages to our crew.

See the attached PNG for an overview of my setup.

        Hi,
        What not a pacemaker cluster?
        Little ascii architecture

        Server A --- Server B
        \ /
        \ /
        \ /
        DataBase Server

There's a lot of information about Pacemaker, one example: http://www.linux-ha.org/wiki/Pacemaker
And think about to use Percona as your database: https://www.percona.com/software/mysql-database
Of course with percona XtraDB https://www.percona.com/software/mys...xtradb-cluster
I think with pacemaker + Percona XtraDBServer you've the best option.
        Regards.
